Editorial and AI Disclosure

Short version: AI helps draft the articles on this site, and a person reads every one before it’s published. Here’s what that looks like in practice.

Step by step

  1. An automated tool picks the next topic from a list of 44 topics across 11 categories.
  2. It researches the topic and writes a first draft using Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic.
  3. The draft goes into a private queue. Nothing is published automatically.
  4. I read it. I check the references and the wording, fix or cut whatever is weak, and then publish it (or I start over from scratch).

The Quran and the hadith

The Quran verse in each article (the Arabic and the Sahih International translation) is pulled from a Quran database. The hadith comes from a fixed list that I check with the Sunnah.com website, and it links back there. The AI isn’t allowed to type Arabic. I set it up that way because a small slip in Arabic or in a hadith number is exactly the sort of mistake that shouldn’t happen on a site like this.

Sources

At the bottom of every article, you will find direct links to the exact pages I used for the information. I will always prioritize the Quran and the main books of hadith first, and after that it’s followed by trusted scholars.

What the AI is told not to do

It must not invent hadith, references or gradings. It must not put words in a scholar’s mouth or make up lecture titles. It must also not hand out personal rulings, or present a disputed question as if it were settled. It must not take political sides, speak badly of named people or companies, or recommend investments or products.

Where this can go wrong

AI can get things wrong and sound sure of itself while doing it, and Islamic rulings depend on detail. My review is there for that reason, and it isn’t perfect. If you spot an error, please tell me through the contact page. I’ll fix it immediatly and add a dated note at the bottom of the article.
